Seng Kee Choi, DMD

Seng Kee Choi, DMD, a prosthodontics resident, received a one-year, $6,000 grant from the American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation to fund his research project, which examines the implications of using nanoparticles to transport medications into tooth pulp.

Negar Homayounfar, DDS, MS, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry, received a one-year, $15,000 grant from the American College of Prosthodontists Foundation for her project, “Osteoinductive Potential of Demineralized Bone Matrix Allograft Materials of Distinct Embryonic Origin.”

Radi Masri, DDS, MS, PhD, research associate professor in the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry and Raimi Quiton, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, received a one-year, $75,000 UMB-UMBC Research and Innovation Partnership Grant for their project, “The role of the superior colliculus in migraine pathophysiology.”

Valli Meeks, DDS ’88, MS, RDH, clinical associate professor in the Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences, Marie Johnson, DDS ’06, clinical instructor in the Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences and Isabel Rambob, DDS, clinical assistant professor in the Department of General Dentistry, received University of Maryland, Baltimore Global Health Grant Awards to fund interprofessional global health projects.
