Patrik Bavoil, PhD, chair of the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis, has been elected to fellowship in the American Academy of Microbiology.

Vineet Dhar, BDS, MDS, PhD, chief of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry, has been named a 2015-2016 American Dental Education Association Leadership Fellow.

Jacquelyn Fried, RDH, MS, associate professor and director of interprofessional initiatives, was named one of the Top 100 Women in Maryland by the Maryland Daily Record. Fried was also appointed to the American Dental Hygienists’ Association review panel for continuing education courses involving research.

Shaina Holman, DDS ’15, received the Olav Alvares Award for Outstanding Articles Published in the Journal of Dental Education from the American Dental Education Association. Holman received the award for her article, “U.S. Dental Students’ Attitudes Toward Research and Science: Impact of Research Experience.”

Radi Masri, DDS, MS, PhD, research associate professor in the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry has been elected to the American Board of Prosthodontics.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore and AbBioSci reached a license agreement for two antibodies technologies developed by Li Mao, MD, chair of the Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences, “High Affinity Recombinant Sea Lamprey Antibodies Selected by a Yeast Surface Display Platform” and “Lambodies with High Affinity and Selectivity for Glycans and Uses Therefore.”
