Cariology and Operative Dentistry is that portion of the profession which deals with the treatment of missing or malformed portions of teeth caused by tooth decay (caries), trauma, discoloration or unusual development.
The Division of Cariology and Operative Dentistry supports the teaching program in Comprehensive Dentistry by providing preclinical and clinical instruction to predoctoral and postdoctoral students in the discipline of contemporary Operative Dentistry.
