John F. Moeller, PhD
Dr. Moeller is a health economist with an expertise on matters of longitudinal modeling, health policy and health care finance. Dr. Moeller served for 15 years as the division head and senior health economist, Division of Modeling and Simulation, Center for Financing, Access and Cost Trends (CFACT) at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. In this capacity he directed the development of a health care microsimulation model by a group of PhD economists under his supervision. A number of important policy-related articles have been published from this modeling work that address issues of the uninsured and underinsured, in addition to the cost and distributional aspects of both current and proposed federal and State health care policies.
In addition to his research on dental care services, Moeller also directed and made substantial contributions to the development of prescription drug data from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey and to publications and reports to Congress and the White House using these data.
