Speaker Biography
Dr. Sahar Dowlatshahi is a board certified periodontist with a robust educational background and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Dowlatshahi earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry. Furthering her specialization, Dr. Dowlatshahi completed a certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Medical Sciences (MMSc) at the prestigious Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Dowlatshahi is a proud recipient of the AAP Foundation Colin Richman Periodontal-Orthodontic Interface Award. With a keen interest in fostering collaborations between orthodontics and periodontics, Dr. Dowlatshahi is dedicated to advancing integrated dental care practices.
Currently, Dr. Dowlatshahi serves as an Assistant Professor at UTHealth Houston School of Dental Medicine, where she continues to inspire and educate the next generation of dental professionals.
Course Description
This lecture provides an in-depth exploration of the fundamentals of surgically facilitated orthodontic therapy, designed for dental professionals aiming to enhance their clinical practice. Participants will delve into the core principles and essential techniques that underpin this surgical approach, which combines surgical procedures with orthodontic treatment to achieve elevated patient outcomes.
