Speaker Biography

Dr. Angela Ritchie is a dedicated educator and clinical specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. With a robust teaching background at Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) Dr. Ritchie has helped foster confident and competent oral healthcare providers. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Ritchie serves as the Director of the Oral Pathology Group and practices clinical oral pathology in the Dental Faculty Practice. She provides expertise in the diagnosis and management of many mucosal conditions, including lichen planus and Sjogren syndrome.  She is committed to advancing the field of oral pathology and improving patient outcomes through education and clinical practice.

Course Description

This course delves into the complexities of oral ulcerations and erosions, providing a thorough understanding of their various etiologies, diagnostic techniques, and treatment options. By the end of this lecture, participants will be equipped with the knowledge to accurately diagnose and effectively treat oral ulcerations and erosions, enhancing their clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Differentiate between the many potential etiologies for oral ulcerations and erosions and evaluate clinical examples of oral ulcerations and erosions
  • Review diagnostic techniques for oral ulcerations and erosions and apply proper treatment options for oral ulcerations and erosions
