Speaker Biography
Dr. Selma Saadaldin joined Schulich Dentistry at Western University as Assistant Professor in Prosthodontic Department in 2020. She pursued her BDS and Master’s degree in prosthodontics from Baghdad University and her PhD degree in dental biomaterials from Western University. Dr. Saadaldin worked as faculty at Ajman University of Science and Technology/UAE, Taibah University and Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman Universities in Saudi Arabia as well as Schulich Dentistry as Adjunct Clinical Professor.
Course Description
This course presents the indications and contraindications for removable partial dentures (RPD) and to review RPD design principles for different partially edentulous cases.
Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Biomechanical consideration for RPD design
- Measures applied in RPD design to keep tissues and remaining teeth healthy
- Difference in designing RPDs for tooth supported vs tooth-tissue supported cases.
