Speaker Biography
After dental school, Dr. David Mazza completed a two-year post-doctoral training in the field of “Advanced Study in Operative and Esthetic Dentistry” at Boston University. He was awarded the "Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study" (CAGS).
Dr. Mazza, a Clinical Assistant Professor, has served as a Dean's Faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry since 2000.
He provided the first- and second-year residents of the post-graduate AEGD program with 36 hours of Aesthetics-related seminars and hands-on training. He is the course director for “Aesthetic Dentistry” and “Dental Implants” for D3 and D4 students, Elective Presentations, affiliated with the Office of Academic Affairs, University of Maryland, School of Dentistry.
Dr. Mazza provides nationwide continuing education presentations at Dental Schools, Symposiums, and Study Clubs.
Dr. Mazza is a:
- Board-Certified Diplomate at ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists),
- Board-Certified Diplomate at the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry (ABAD),
- AAED (American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry) Associate Member (by invitation),
- Member ASDA (American Society for Dental Aesthetics),
- IADFE (International Academy for Dental and Facial Esthetics) member,
- SCAD (Society for Color and Appearance in Dentistry) member,
- MSDA (Maryland State Dental Society) member,
- ADA member.
- He has completed prosthetic and surgical training at MIII (Misch International Implant Institute),
- First-place award winner for presentation at International Conference,
- Two-time recipient award for excellence in teaching from two Deans of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Course Description
What could be more rewarding in life rather than to be able to enhance individuals' lives, boosting up their confidence, giving them a reason to Smile, and with the same token, having a fun and fulfilling carrier. Aesthetic Dentistry is the Key!
The goal of this course is to review these principles in a systematic and organized manner.
Course Objectives
During this lecture participants will review:
- Diagnosis of Dental Aesthetic anomalies, problem(s), and proper treatment planning, treatment options
- Implementation of Porcelain Laminate Veneers and Composite Laminate Veneers
- Smile Aesthetic Analysis, assessing optimal size and shape of final restorations
- Checklist for Veneer procedure
- Checklist for Veneer delivery and cementation
- Preparation designs for best longevity and Aesthetics
- Review of bonding procedures to different media
- Review Ceramic, Porcelain and Composite systems to obtain best Aesthetic results
- Occlusion design to gain optimal longevity of restorations
