The postgraduate periodontics program is designed to cultivate residents in all facets of periodontics and implantology, and to prepare them for examination by the American Board of Periodontology. The program is based on a core curriculum of traditional periodontics that includes training in all aspects of diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning. Diversity in faculty exposes each resident to develop competency in areas of non-surgical and surgical therapies. The program provides training in implantology, inclusive of state of the art guided bone regeneration approaches for alveolar ridge and maxillary sinus augmentation. Graduates of the program become proficient in inhalation and intravenous conscious sedation.
