The post-doctoral program is designed to prepare the student for a career in patient care in a private practice or a hospital setting. The student is expected to develop clinical skills in treating pediatric patients including those with special healthcare needs. Students are also expected to function effectively in the hospital environment, treating patients with complex medical problems. The post-doctoral program combined with a Master’s or PhD degree is intended for the clinician who wishes to pursue a career as a teacher/researcher and emphasizes scientific methodology together with research experience to develop skills required for independent research.

TOEFL Scores
A minimum TOEFL Score of at least 550 paper-based, 213 computer based and 80 internet based is required. If you are having the score report sent directly to the University of Maryland, please use code 5944 department 38. If you use International English Language Testing System (IELTS) instead of TOEFL a minimum total score of 7 is required.
