In an important move toward the future of dental education and health care, earlier today Dean Mark Reynolds, DDS, PhD, officially announced the launch of the School of Dentistry’s new Division of Artificial Intelligence Research.

The Division of AI Research in the Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences will be directed by Ahmed S. Sultan (left), BDS, PhD, assistant professor in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology; and Jeffery Price (right), DDS, MS, clinical professor and director of Oral Radiology.

This division is poised to transform the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Radiology by leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance diagnostics and improve patient outcomes, and will focus on harnessing the power of AI to transform oral health care, further positioning UMSOD as a leader in advancing patient care through pioneering innovations and technologies.
