Haiyan Chen, MD, PhD

Chen worked as a physician in China, specialized in neurology, as a research scientist for the New York State Department of Health and as a biostatistician for the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She practiced medicine in China and received her advanced training in epidemiology and biostatistics in the United States. Her research interests include the spatial and temporal Bayesian analysis of count data using large state disease surveillance registry. Chen is currently in charge of the Survey of the Oral Health Status of Maryland School Children. She has published her research results on complementary treatments, clinical trials and development of statistical methodologies for count data.
