Evidence-based Dentistry (EBD), as defined by the American Dental Association (ADA), is “an approach to oral healthcare that requires the judicious integration of systematic assessments of clinically relevant scientific evidence, relating to the patient’s oral and medical condition and history, with the dentist’s clinical expertise and the patient’s treatment needs and preferences.”

What is a CAT?
A “Critically Appraised Topic” is a brief summation of the best evidence on a given clinical topic. The online CAT library is updated as new research is published. Currently, the library provides users with up-to-date evidence-based answers to more than 1000 focused clinical questions.
How do I use CATs?
To begin your search, click the “Search the Library”. You may search by keyword(s), author(s), co-author(s), and/or mentor(s). You may also browse by dental specialties or topics.
