Introduction to Cone Beam CT

Dr. Jeffery Price

Course Description

This senior elective course is an introduction to dental cone beam computed tomography, an advanced imaging technique which provides a 3D view of the structures of the maxillomandibular region. Dental CBCT has been commercially available since 2001 and there are now approximately 6,000 dental CBCT machines in use in the U.S.  The most common reason that dentists use CBCT is for dental implant treatment planning and many professional organizations recommend that CBCT imaging be used as a routine aspect of implant planning. This course will provide the student with an introduction to the technology and principles of dental CBCT.

Schedule

Both sessions of this elective will take place in G-310 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
